An elderly woman has been taken to hospital in Aberdeen following a fire at a sheltered housing complex in the early hours of this morning.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent 22 firefighters in four appliances and a height vehicle to Stewart Park Court in Hilton this morning.
The call was made to the fire service this morning at 1.45am.
The appliances, which were from Altens, Central fire station and North Anderson Drive, used two breathing apparatus and a foam extinguisher to put out the blaze.
The fire was out by 2.15am, according to a spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
He said: “We received a call at 1.45am to a fire in a high rise block of flats.
“Four appliances were sent to the scene, along with a height vehicle, totaling 22 firefighters.
“One casualty was reported.”
Police Scotland was also in attendance at the scene, after being called by the fire service at 1.50am.
A police spokeswoman said: “An elderly lady was taken to hospital as a precaution, but the fire appears to be accidental.”
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 2.05am to attend a fire at Stewart Park Court, Aberdeen.
“We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one patient was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
