Aberdeen is in for another festive treat this year as the stars of Aberdeen’s biggest panto return to spread Christmas cheer across the North-east.
Elaine C Smith is treading the boards of His Majesty’s Theatre for the eighth year running in this Christmas’s production of Dick McWhittington.
She joked: “I was only supposed to be coming for a year to see how it went! I was just bowled over by the warmth of people and the welcome I got though.”
Elaine will play The Spirit of the Don in this year’s show which takes the classic tale of Dick Whittington and puts a quintessentially North-east spin on it.
Elaine is delighted to be back in the Granite City for another year of entertaining audiences over the festive season.
She said: “When I flew up from London to Aberdeen, I couldn’t get over the feeling of well-being I had coming from the airport and thinking ‘wow, how lucky am I to be doing this job?'”
She added: “I think the joyous thing about panto is the light in it. For an hour people come in and have that light in their life.”
