Cannabis worth more than £7,000 has been seized from a car on the A90.
A 29-year-old woman from Glasgow and a man, 30, from East Kilbride, have been charged following the recovery.
Cannabis was seized by officers after they stopped a Vauxhall Astra on the A90 near Laurencekirk last night.
The pair were due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.
Roads Policing Inspector Jon Barron said: “Police Scotland is committed to making the areas we live hostile environments in which to deal drugs.
“There is no place for illegal substances in our communities and no place for the criminal activity and unwanted behaviour that can come with this.
“Targeting serious organised crime involving drugs is a priority for the division to ensure the North-east remains one of the safest places to live and work.
“Anyone with concerns about drug misuse where they live should contact police on 101 or if they wish to remain anonymous the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
