A contract has been awarded to deliver third sector drug and alcohol services for Aberdeen for the next three years.
Alcohol & Drugs Action (ADA) has been awarded the contract to deliver the services on behalf of Aberdeen Alcohol and Drugs Partnership and Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership for a further three years.
The contract award will see ADA aim to deliver flexible, easy-to-access and effective services to address the diverse needs of people in Aberdeen to reduce alcohol and drug related harm and to provide opportunities for people and families to recover.
Key areas of activity include a harm reduction service for people in Aberdeen, using evidence-based interventions to address all forms of risk associated with alcohol or drug use.
This involves an advice and information service (including online self-audit for alcohol) daily drop-in/duty, needle exchange and structured motivational support for individuals and families affected.
The service is open every day of the week, with daily ‘walk-in’ slots at 7 Hadden Street in the city centre.
