A telecommunications giant has apologised to drivers as a road is set to be shut while work takes place.
A section of the unclassified Fyvie to Cuminestown road will close tomorrow – causing a 16-mile diversion for motorists.
The work being carried out will include BT laying power ducts.
A BT Openreach spokesman said: “The planned work on the Cuminestown to Fyvie road begins tomorrow and will run till Saturday.
“This will bring faster fibre broadband speeds to more homes and businesses in Cuminestown as part of the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband roll-out.
“The works are undertaken in accordance with statutory requirements and in consultation with the local authority. We’re sorry for any disruption while this necessary work take place.”
Two separate diversions are set to be in place using the A957 for cars heading northbound and B9170 for those heading southbound.
