A MAN has been banned from the road after he crashed into the side of a house while more than four times the drink drive limit.
Matthew Day had 90 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he hit the corner of a home in Huntly with his uninsured Ford Mondeo.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard 21-year-old Day was found in Church Street slurring his words and “unsteady on his feet” after the incident, which happened on Saturday, May 30.
Fiscal depute Stephanie Ross: “It was approximately 8.20pm when members of the public heard a loud bang.”
Day admitted drink driving and driving without insurance when he appeared.
Defence agent John Hardie said his client accepted his guilt and was “ashamed”.
Sheriff William Taylor disqualified Day, whose address was given in court papers as 59 Church Street, Huntly, from driving for a year and fined him £500.
