A man has been fined and banned from the road after being caught over the drink-drive limit.
Konstantinas Davidovas, 41, appeared before Sheriff Colin Dunipace and admitted driving on the A97 Aberchirder to Huntly road at its junction with the A96 Huntly to Inverurie road with 76 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 22mcgs.
The offence took place on September 17.
The court heard Davidovas was stopped after a concerned member of the public contacted the police.
His defence agent Ross Taggart said prior to the offence Davidovas had been in a party fishing at a local loch, and had been staying at a lodge.
Mr Taggart said his client decided to drive home, but it was “the wrong decision – clearly the alcohol had not left his system”.
Davidovas, whose address was given in court papers as Schivas Road, Peterhead, was fined £400 and banned from the road for 15 months.
