A Doric project has been given the green light by a north-east authority.
Aberdeenshire Council has approved funding for a storytelling project in Alford.
Stories Fae the Howe is a collaborative effort of Alford Heritage Centre, Alford Community Library, the Elphinstone Institute and storyteller Jackie Ross.
The project aims to work with various groups with in the local community to create an audio resource of 10 short films, featuring stories related to farming, told in Doric.
Free storytelling sessions will run daily from tomorrow until August 17 at Alford Heritage Centre, except for August 15.
The session for five- to seven-year-olds will be held from 10-11am each day while the sessions for eight to 18-year-olds run from 11am until 1pm.
The project will run until October and end in a grand finale at the heritage centre on October 28 to showcase the films produced.
