Dons legend Joe Harper said the decision to play both Betfred Cup semi-finals on the same day is a recipe for disaster.
The club’s record goalscorer said: “It beggars belief why the SPFL would ever come up with the idea of playing two semi-finals on the same day, on the same park. Everything about the scheduling of these semi-finals is like a time bomb just waiting to explode.
“There is a chance there could be serious trouble and if there is it will all be down to the SPFL.”
He added: “They have not taken Aberdeen or Hearts fans into consideration.”
The King of the Beach End also reckons the timing of the Dons v Rangers game, at noon on Sunday October 28, will put families off taking youngsters.
Joe said: “I wouldn’t imagine many parents would want to take their children to a game against Rangers on a Sunday at noon. Especially when they know there is another semi-final with Celtic and Hearts at the same stadium hours after.”
