Dons legend Joe Harper was among 200 people who attended an open day to promote the work of Alzheimer Scotland in the north-east.
A number of initiatives currently in operation by the charity were highlighted at the event at Pittodrie including its football memories.
Mr Harper was delighted to support the event and said: “I am more than happy to help spread the word about how we can help people who have been diagnosed with dementia.
“The idea of sharing memories and personal stories relating to football is just brilliant. This open day has been very successful and will hopefully bring about positive benefits to people living with dementia.”
Lesley Gray, a dementia adviser with Alzheimer Scotland, said: “We were not sure just how many people would turn up, but have been pleasantly surprised by the numbers of folk diagnosed who have come along.”
