Donations are being sought for a new yarn bombing project at an Aberdeen park.

The Friends of Westfield Park group, which looks after the Bridge of Don park alongside Aberdeen City Council officers, held a yarn bombing event in July to decorate some of the trees in the green space.

The group now hopes to include a tree decorated with knitted poppies to mark the centenary of the First World War Armistice, and is asking people to donate knitted or crocheted poppies that can be used.

A spokeswoman for Friends of Westfield Park said: “After the success of our yarn bombing event earlier this year, we are asking for help again.

“We would like to help with the 100-year Armistice celebrations.”

Donations can be made to Bridge of Don Library by October 31.
