Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK will reportedly include a trip to Aberdeenshire.
It has been reported a large part of the US president’s trip will be shifted from London to the Queen’s residence at Balmoral in a bid to deter protesters.
It has been suggested Trump could spend just one day in London as part of the trip.
The visit was originally due to take place in June but is now thought to be scheduled for October.
A senior Whitehall source reportedly said: “The Americans have asked to push it back.
“They don’t want what will be one of his first big foreign trips to be overshadowed.”
Approval was granted for the Trump International Golf Links Scotland at Menie, near Balmedie, in 2010 and it opened in 2012.
Plans for a second golf course are still progressing, while a proposal of application notice for 850 homes and 1,900 leisure accommodation units was submitted to the council in 2015 – but has not progressed any further.
