A dog has been reunited with his owners after being found by police officers in Aberdeenshire.

Officers in Insch found the dog while on a routine patrol in his vehicle this morning in the Station Road area when he spotted him without a collar.

The dog, affectionately named Doug by British Transport Police officers, was taken to Dunny Deer vets, until his owners were found, where he was scanned for a microchip.
