A TOILET and a bike were collected alongside more than 20 bags of rubbish from Aberdeen’s Merchant Quarter.
McDonald’s staff from the Union Street and Garthdee restaurants joined forces with Keep Scotland Beautiful to clean up the city centre spot.
Aberdeen Central MSP Kevin Stewart joined the group on the litter pick and welcomed the volunteers’ efforts.
He said: “It’s good to see McDonalds playing its part in ensuring that our environment is clean and tidy.
I recognise the company constantly cleans the area around its premises and this extended litter-pick is to be commended.”
McDonald’s franchisee Geoff Cooper thanked everyone involved.
He said: “Whilst in the first instance we are keen to actively discourage littering, events like this one help make a big impact on the local area.
“When employees of local businesses like mine work together we are able to achieve so much more.”
