A Peterhead film director has wished his home town football club good luck ahead of their cup final tomorrow.
Jon Baird, who has worked with legends suck as Martin Scorsese, said: “I’m glad that they got they’ve got there because it’s been a long progression.
“I remember when they used to play in the Highland League in front of 50 people.
“I think the guys behind the club, like Rodger Morrison, the people should be thanking these guys.
“The community have really got behind the club. I really hope they win.
“And obviously, Rangers being long rivals with Aberdeen, it’s a chance for the North-east to get one up on them.”
Jon, who has just returned to London from America, won’t be able to attend the game but will be cheering Peterhead on from afar.
He added: “I’ve got a family engagement so I won’t be able to manage the game, but we’ll be following it closely. It kind of reminds me of when I was a kid and my dad took me to see the European Cup Winners’ Cup final – it’s David and Goliath.
“I’m sure a lot of my friends will be going and I think there will be a lot of Aberdeen and Celtic fans from Peterhead going as well.”
