A new ATM has been installed in an Aberdeen community after protests over the loss of a bank branch.
There was anger after the closure of the Clydesdale Bank at Mastrick Shopping Centre in June, with residents in the area complaining of long queues to withdraw cash from the one bank machine left in the area.
However, a new ATM has now been installed and is in operation at the site.
Aberdeen Donside MSP Mark McDonald, who campaigned to get the cash machine put in place, said: “I’m delighted that we finally have another ATM installed, as this will provide better access to cash for residents and shoppers and it will be a major boost to the local businesses in the area. It’s a really positive development for Mastrick.”
