The final countdown has begun for businesses looking to enter the Evening Express Local Retailer Awards.
The Evening Express offices have been inundated with entries from fantastic local, independent businesses from across the North-east, but there’s still time for others to get involved.
Entries will close tomorrow at 5pm, bringing the first stage of the inaugural awards to an end.
From there, a shortlist will be whittled down and presented to a panel of industry experts, who will decide who the winner is for each of the 12 categories.
For those looking to enter before the gong sounds, the process couldn’t be easier – simply go online and fill out the form, telling us a bit about your business and what makes it special. Supporting material, including photographs and customer testimonials, can also be included, but is not essential.
The awards, which launched at the end of May, aim to recognise the local retailers that are the lifeblood of the community, from beauty salons to coffee shops, butchers to garden centres, and everything in between.
Run in association with Aberdeen Inspired, the awards are open to local businesses across 12 categories: convenience/newsagent; butcher; bakery; florist; coffee shop/cafe; takeaway; fashion; hair and beauty; fresh produce; garden centre; specialist retailer and city centre retailer.
Whether it be great customer service, a unique product or a passion for helping others, every business has something special.
The Evening Express wants to recognise and reward the people behind those businesses, and the hard work they put in to make the North-east a better place.
Once the judging stage is concluded, the awards will culminate with a glittering ceremony at The Beach Ballroom on Friday, October 30.
Tickets for the event are also available online through the Awards website www.eeretailawards.co.uk
