Families feel welcome at an Aberdeen school’s day-care centre, inspectors have said.
Monitors from the Care Inspectorate watchdog visited Heathryburn Nursery School on Howes Road, Northfield, on January 26 and have now published their inspection report.
They gave the centre a “good” rating – the third best out of six possible rating – in all areas, including care and support.
The centre can provide care for up to 40 children aged three to five.
“Staff had developed positive relationships with the children and their families in their care,” said the report.
It added: “This helped families feel included and welcomed.
“Kind and caring staff used lots of praise to improve children’s confidence and self esteem.”
One parent told the inspectors: “This service has helped my child a lot.
“The staff are always helpful, which has helped my child settle into their new surroundings.”
Another said: “My children really like their teachers”.
