WHEN Scott Campbell woke up, little did he know that within 10 minutes he would be almost £50,000 richer – by gambling from the comfort of his bed.

Scott, a plasterer from Northfield in Aberdeen, today spoke of his delight after scooping £49,081.55 from a £6 bet while playing an online game on his iPad.

He secured the cash windfall after only 10 minutes during a game of Mega Moolah, a progressive jackpot wheel game on a website called Luxury Casinos.

The only reason Scott decided to try his luck at the game at 10am on Friday was to kill time while he was getting work done to his boiler.

Scott, 26, said: “I didn’t even realise the plumber was coming round to the house so, while he was doing the work, I decided to have a go at the game on my iPad.

“I wasn’t feeling very well and went back to bed and my partner had just came in from nightshift and had gone to sleep.

“She was shocked when she woke up to discover I had won and at first she didn’t actually believe me.

“It took around 10 minutes to get the money up to that amount.

“I won £500 in the first few minutes and I then continued to put the money up.

“It’s definitely my biggest ever win. I only bet around £6, which made it all the better.”

It wasn’t the first time Scott’s had a stroke of gambling luck, as he has previously won on a football coupon.

Scott, who plays darts for the Northern Bar on George Street, also hit the first nine-dart leg – a perfect score – in an Aberdeen Darts Association match.

But Scott says this is the best thing he’s won by far.

He added: “It’s happened at the ideal time before Christmas and I’m delighted.

“All of the Christmas presents have already been bought so this will go towards a good 2016.”

Scott plans to put the money, which he is still to receive, towards a deposit to buy a house.
