Crowds gathered for the opening of a new Marks & Spencer’s foodhall in Aberdeen this morning.
The new store, which employs 60 people, opened in the Bridge of Don Retail Park at 10am.
With a 50-seat cafe and bakery as well as the foodhall, shoppers will have the chance to shop in store or use a click and collect service.
And Greenbrae School’s choir was on hand singing Christmas carols to shoppers queuing outside.
Store Manager Andrew Christie, who has worked for the company for 32 years, said: “I was brought up in Bridge of Don so I know the area and it is special for me to open the store today.
“The crowd was loving it and they were saying they didn’t realise how big it was on the inside.”
