A thug has been jailed after knocking a man unconscious outside Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
Barry Dyker floored his victim with a punch to the head outside the city courthouse on Tuesday.
The 40-year-old had been appearing at court earlier in the day where his sentence for a offence he previously pled guilty to was further deferred.
Fiscal depute Felicity Merson said Dyker and his victim were not known to each other.
She said the two men were engaged in conversation when “without warning the accused punched the complainer to the left side of his face knocking him to the ground”.
She added: “The complainer was knocked out. A photographer happened to be nearby and took a photo of the accused and showed it to the police. I understand the incident was captured on CCTV.”

The man did not suffer any significant injuries.
Dyker, of Falkland Street, Middlesbrough, pled guilty to assault.
Defence agent John Ferrie said: “He accepts that he punched him. He then crossed over the road and could have made his escape but he came back to see if he was okay and that’s when the photographer pointed him out to police officers.”
Sheriff Ian Wallace jailed Dyker for six months.
