A man has appeared in court in connection with a serious assault in at an Aberdeen nightspot.

Nicholas Adams or Dalglish appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday following an alleged attack in Prohibition, on Langstane Place, pictured, in the early hours of Monday October 29.

The 28-year-old, whose general address was given as Aberdeen, faces a charge of assault to severe injury.

He made no plea at the behind-closed-doors hearing and the case was continued for further examination.

Dalglish was released on bail.

The appearance came after a 19-year-old man was left with serious facial injuries following the alleged assault. The teenager was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment as a result.

Police had previously appealed for members of the public who may have witnessed the alleged attack or have mobile phone footage of it to get in touch.

It happened just hours after Aberdeen beat Rangers in the semi-final of the League Cup at Hampden in Glasgow.

PC Grant Hardie, of the Divisional Alcohol Violence Reduction Unit, who led inquiries, said: “We are grateful to members of the public who assisted us with our investigation.”
