A man who hijacked a friend’s Facebook account and sent pictures of a penis to his work colleagues has landed up in court for the “stupid prank”.
Keith Meldrum, 31, created a Facebook page for his pal and used the access to send two people the graphic photo, which he told police he sourced from Google.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court was told Meldrum and the man – who had known each other for around 10 years – are no longer pals.
Fiscal depute Gavin Letford said the offence came about as a result of a 3am “drunken prank”.
Mr Letford said the friend asked Meldrum to make a Facebook account for him but their relationship had then “deteriorated”.
Mr Letford said: “At 3am on August 27 2017 the two complainers received an image sent via the Facebook account.
“The accused sent the images from the Facebook account of a friend of his, and sent the images to colleagues of the friend.”

The man denied sending the explicit photo and police were contacted.
Meldrum told officers it was a “random image he found on Google”, adding it was a “stupid prank which he had done to make his friends laugh”.
Meldrum, of Charles Place, Inverurie, pled guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by sending two men an image of a penis via social media.
Defence agent Charles Benzies said his client and the man he created the Facebook page for were “no longer friends”.
He said: “It was a drunken prank. He says he was egged on by others. He bitterly regrets his actions.”
Sheriff Graham Buchanan fined Meldrum £200.
