A man assaulted another male in the city centre – before driving away from the scene over a footpath.
John Corbett, 33, assaulted a man on Guild Street by striking him on the head and pushing him, causing him to fall on the ground.
He then drove a motorbike carelessly by mounting a footpath on Trinity Street while driving at speed.
The offence took place on May 13. Corbett had previously pled guilty by letter.
Defence agent Iain McGregor said the incident was captured on video. He said: “The complainer was clearly intoxicated.”
The solicitor said the victim was described as “acting in an aggressive manner”.

He added that Corbett, whose address was given in court papers as Burnbrae Place, Aberdeen, accepted self-defence was not an issue and there were other “avenues he could have taken”.
The solicitor said: “It’s a matter of regret he acted as he did.”
Sheriff Ian Wallace ordered Corbett to carry out 90 hours of unpaid work within four months.
For the driving offence he fined him £140 and gave him three penalty points.
