A shoplifter has been given unpaid work after stealing a gumshield and clothes.
Steven McQueen, 32, previously pled guilty at Aberdeen Sheriff Court to stealing clothing and a gumshield from Sports Direct on Union Street on December 19.
Depute fiscal Christy Ward said: “The total value of the items taken was £17.49 and there was full recovery.”
Referring to a social work report, Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill said: “He’s explained he wouldn’t really want to do unpaid work because he’s easily led astray and he’s likely to come into contact with old associates.”

Defence agent Gregor Kelly asked Sheriff Gill to take into account the “limited value” of the items and said he would “welcome the opportunity to undertake community payback”.
Sheriff Gill ordered McQueen, of Hilton Drive, Aberdeen, to be supervised for 12 months and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
