Urgent work will take place to repair a North-east harbour, council bosses have said.
A share of £1 million will be spent on carrying out a diving survey, sheet pile works, cavity repairs and replacing rock armour at Buckie Harbour.
The same work will also be carried out at Burghead and Findochty harbours.
Moray Council’s economic development and infrastructure committee gave the green light for works at a meeting yesterday. The council will also spend £130,000 on inspecting 371 bridges across Moray and repairing 10 of them.
The committee heard the council has installed 7,630 LED street lights since last April, saving the council cash and helping the environment. More than £8m will be spent on maintaining Moray’s roads before April 2019.
The committee’s chairman Councillor John Cowe said: “To make sure we deliver value for money to our residents in Moray, we must maintain quality infrastructure and services.”
