Police officers and the council may have to join forces to ensure pedestrian safety in a North-east community.
Peterhead South and Cruden councillor Stephen Calder claims he was targeted by one driver as he walked along Peterhead’s Marischal Street earlier this month.
The route is closed to cars at all times and is only open to buses and vehicles loading at shops.
Mr Calder, however, has spotted motorists flouting those restrictions and says a driver tried to use their car to push him out of the way.
Philip Leiper, Aberdeenshire Council’s roads manager, confirmed the local authority is working alongside the police to crackdown on drivers who ignore the rules.
