A North-east road which took more than a year to open after completion has been closed just months after motorists began using the route.
The link, which connects the B9170 Oldmeldrum Road to the B9001 at Rothienorman, was constructed by Malcolm Allan Housebuilders to meet a planning condition which was attached to two nearby housing developments.
Work was finished on the project in 2015 but it remained shut after a dip in the road was discovered on a roundabout at the Rothienorman end, which prompted fears lorries might topple over.
The road was eventually opened just before Christmas but it has now been closed again to allow contractors to repair some parts of the surface which do not meet Aberdeenshire Council’s standards.
The work, which is being carried out by Hunter Construction, began on Monday and is expected to take a week.
