THE man vying for Labour’s top job received a standing ovation from a packed Aberdeen theatre as he kicked of his Scottish tour.
Around 300 people attended Labour leadership candidate Jeremy Corbyn’s question and answer event at ACT Aberdeen yesterday.
Mr Corbyn addressed the crowd on issues such as protecting benefits, ending austerity, raising taxes on the wealthiest and protecting the environment.
He said: “We have put forward a set of proposals on the environment, economy, young people, housing and culture.
“These are thought-out proposals, of course they can be amended but they have been seriously thought out.”
Once seen as an outsider, the Islington North MP Mr Corbyn is now front-runner in the UK Labour party leadership race
