Plans for a drive-thru coffee shop are set to be approved – despite dozens of objections from residents.
The proposed Starbucks branch, which would be open 24 hours a day and create in the region of 20 jobs, would be situated at Arnhall Business Park, to the east of Westhill.
The plans will be recommended for approval when they go before Aberdeenshire Council next week.
A report by Lippe Architects said the development would “enhance the area and the entrance to the town”.

However, Westhill and Elrick Community Council said in a statement: “There has been no economic assessment by the applicant on the viability and vitality of the existing Westhill Shopping Centre and there has been no justification by the applicant as to why this type of provision is required, particularly as Westhill has an abundance of fast food outlets.”
