A north-east MP has praised the work of a Men’s Shed in his constituency.
Colin Clark, Conservative MP for Gordon, called in on Inverurie Men’s Shed to see the work the group does in providing opportunities for men to work together.
He said: “It has been proved that being part of a Men’s Shed assists with living healthier, happier and more connected lives and this is definitely borne out in Inverurie.
“The guys that I met are absolutely brilliant.
“They come together to work on projects and socialise but most of all they help each other.”
All sheds differ but usually involve a social area for interests the men have, including card playing, scrabble, and pool along with space for craft work or reading.
The workshop includes equipment for wood and metal working.
These premises were the subject of a successful community asset transfer.
The shed is open on Mondays and Thursdays between 10am and 4pm at unit 19 on Harlaw Way, Inverurie.
