Police this afternoon named a teenager who was killed in a crash on the A90.
Jordan Gibbins, 17, from Lonmay, near Fraserburgh, died in the incident just south of Fraserburgh.
The crash happened at 3.10am.
Police Scotland are still looking to speak to anyone who saw the grey Honda Civic prior to the collision and ask that they contact them on 101.
A section of the A90 was closed for around 10 hours while crash investigators examined the scene.
Sergeant Rob Warnock said: “First and foremost, my thoughts are obviously with the family and friends of this young man at this tragic time.
“I would appeal for anyone who might have seen the vehicle described in the moments leading up to the collision, or has any information about the incident itself, to contact Police as we launch an investigation into what happened.”
Brian Topping, councillor for the area, said: “This is a huge tragedy for the local community of Fraserburgh. My thoughts and prayers at this very sad time go out to the family and friends of the young man.”
