An Aberdeen community centre has reopened after a £500,000 refurbishment.
Powis Community Centre has opened its doors after being closed for more than a year despite being dogged by delays.
The work included a complete replacement of the heating system, electrical rewiring, replacement of lighting and asbestos removal.
New flooring has also been put in place and the internal areas of the B-listed building redecorated.
Fiona Lindsay, member of the Powis Residents Group, said the refurbished building is a “massive improvement”.
She added: “It’s been given a total facelift and it’s like a new building.
“The community is desperate for it.
“It’s the heart of the community. It’s a meeting place and it’s what brings all the different residents together.
“We want to let people know the doors are open.
“Come in, get involved and shape a new future.”
The Residents Association and council officers are interested to hear views on what locals would like to see in the centre.
