North-east residents are being encouraged to applaud NHS staff for all their hard work during the outbreak.
Organisation Clap for our Carers has organised a UK-wide event, to be held at 8pm tonight, which will see members of the public show their appreciation for healthcare workers across the country.
The campaign has proved popular on social media, with hundreds of thousands of people anticipated to take part around Scotland.
Residents are being asked to clap for health workers from front doors, gardens, balconies or windows at 8pm.
Meanwhile, Stewart Stevenson, MSP for Banffshire and Buchan Coast, has urged anyone who has left the professional register within the last three years in a healthcare role to return to assist patients being cared for by NHS Grampian.
Last week the Scottish Government announced plans to recruit volunteers with relevant skills and experience to support frontline staff as demand and need increases.
