Aberdeen brewer boosted by £120k new funds

DEMAND: Fierce Beer can now expand.

Fierce Beer was awarded a £120,000 funding package by Barclays, which will be used to purchase new bottling and fermenting equipment.

The brewer is one of many to benefit from Barclays’ £500 million Scottish SME fund since it was launched in June last year.

The investment will help Fierce Beer up production capacity from 300 to 2,000.

Founded in 2015 by Dave Grant and David McHardy, it initially sold through North-east craft beer bars and beer festivals, however, the firm has seen rising demand in the UK and from abroad.

Co-founder Mr Grant said: “The team at Barclays recognises Fierce Beer’s potential and it’s great that they will be involved in the next stage of our journey.”
