A pop-up choir will take to the stage at a north-east church as part of a celebration of local culture.
The choir will perform the Doric Messiah in St Margaret’s Church in Braemar next Saturday, at 6.30pm, as part of the year of indigenous languages.
Handel’s Messiah was translated into Doric by Gordon Hay of Longside. It will be conducted by Paul Mealor from Aberdeen University’s music department.
Workshops for anyone wishing to join the choir will be held on March 23 ahead of the evening performance.
