Christmas celebrations in a North-east community which are facing the axe could be saved after a council vowed to step in.
Every year a Christmas parade is held in Ellon which culminates in a fireworks display.
But the celebrations, which include festive lighting , decorations and a visit from Santa, are in danger of being cancelled after a community council disbanded suddenly.
Ellon Community Council said it took the decision to close on Friday after it was told it did not have sufficient numbers to continue operating.
The group had eight members – but they said a minimum of 10 are needed to function.
