A CELEBRITY chef hit the city centre – followed by television cameras – in a bid to encourage people to eat more local produce.
Filming for a new episode in the BBC Landward series, Nick Nairn and his on-screen partner Dougie Vipond were cooking-up some tasty treats outside the St Nicholas Centre for lucky passers-by.
As well as cooking in a food van, the pair visited Dunnottar Woods and Portsoy to source some of the freshest ingredients the North-east has to offer.
Nick said: “The whole idea behind the street food van we have is to show people that we have such great food right under our nose in Scotland and we want the public to try it for themselves.
“Aberdeen kind of feels like my home town now, I spend a lot of time here with the cook school and the restaurant.
“It feels like you’re doing it on your own patch so it’s been fantastic to be here sourcing some ingredients and sharing them with the people of Aberdeen.”
