A popular Aberdeen music festival has unveiled a host of big names as part of its line-up.
Chart-topping production and DJ duo Sigma are among the latest acts confirmed for Aberdeen’s Enjoy Music festival.
They will take to the stage at the festival, which takes place on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, at the city’s Hazlehead Park.
The pop and dance act have had two number one singles and a string of top 10 hits, including collaborations with Rita Ora and Paloma Faith.
Also announced as joining the bill are Goldie Lookin Chain, DJ James Zabeila, Dodgy’s lead singer Nigel Clark, along with Mark Morris, from indie band The Bluetones, who will perform an acoustic set.
Festival entertainers Colonel Mustard and the Djion 5 make will their debut at this year’s festival.
They join a bill that already features bands Cast and Starsailor, while Faithless and Basement Jaxx will perform a DJ set at the event.
Festival boss Russell Aitchison said: “We’re delighted to be able to add these amazing acts, to make this our biggest line up ever.
“There’s a real range of music on offer over the weekend with something to suit all tastes.”
The festival will be announcing its family entertainment programme in the coming weeks, which has been extended after the success of last year.
Marketing director Mark Lenthall said: “We’re here to give the North-east a large-scale music festival we can all be proud of, and 2018 is shaping up to be just that.”
He added: “Tickets are selling fast and I am sure music lovers will want to be part of Aberdeen’s biggest event this summer.”
The outdoor summer event has gone from strength to strength since it started in 2015 making it one of the most popular events in the city’s entertainment calendar.
A number of new elements have also been introduced over the years including different stages for different genres, adding to the atmosphere.
And last year’s event saw 6,000 people flock to the festival to watch rock legends Primal Scream and top dance act Chase & Status headline the event – which was almost double the number of people attending the previous year.
