A North-east cathedral is to provide the backdrop for a fun-filled evening of Shakespearean comedy.
Illyria are bringing an open-air production of The Comedy of Errors to Elgin Cathedral.
The production, which is believed to be one of Shakespeare’s earliest plays, follows the journey of identical twins who are separated at birth then unwittingly reunited as adults with comical consequences.
Lorna Ewan, head of visitor experience, content and learning at Historic Environment Scotland, said: “The Comedy of Errors is one of Shakespeare’s most farcical comedies, so expect an evening of slapstick and whimsical wordplay in a magical setting.”
The production takes place on Saturday with theatre-goers asked to arrive by 6.45pm for a 7pm start.
The production running time is around two hours and tickets are available online and at the event on the day.
