An Aberdeen lifeboat station has been given a £500 cash boost.
The Aberdeen RNLI facility was gifted the money by the Asda Foundation, after shoppers at the Middleton Park branch voted for the donation through the Green Token Giving Scheme.
RNLI’s Aberdeen branch, which relies solely on donations, received an extra £500, which will help staff to continue to run services.
Bill Deans MBE, Aberdeen Lifeboat operations manager, said: “The RNLI is totally dependent on donations from the community to support our work saving lives at sea.
“On behalf of our volunteer crew, we’d like to say a big thank you to Asda and their shoppers for their support.”
A further two donations of £200 were also made to other causes, as voted on by customers of the supermarket.
