Cars will be banned from parking on part of a busy Aberdeen road for the next six months.

The order will cover the east side of George Street, between its junctions with Hutcheon Street and 478 George Street, while student flats are constructed on the street and will be in place for six months from midnight on February 12 until 6pm on August 13.

Vehicles will be prohibited from waiting for any purpose, including loading and unloading.

Fraser Bell, head of legal and democratic services at Aberdeen City Council, said: “The measure is necessary to protect public safety during crane works for student flats construction.”
