Car blaze in North-east being treated as ‘suspicious’

Police are treating a car blaze in the North-east as suspicious.

A silver Renault Megane broke down at around 6.45pm on the A96 between Huntly and Keith on Tuesday.

It was later seen to have been damaged at 11.30pm after its windows had been broken.

But the car was then found to be on fire at around 2.10am yesterday.

No one has been injured but officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

PC Craig Arnott said: “It is believed that the fire was started intentionally and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle or any suspicious activity near it over the times mentioned to contact the police on 101.”
