Antisocial drivers were targeted by north-east police during a two-day operation that led to several motorists receiving warnings.
Police launched Operation Tractable in Turriff town centre on Friday and Saturday and gave official warnings to drivers whose vehicles had noisy exhausts or lighting defects.
One driver was warned after speeding.
Sergeant Richard Henderson, of Turriff Police Station, said: “As part of our ongoing initiative to target antisocial driving and other vehicle-related offences in Turriff, resources including roads policing officers were deployed over two nights.
“One vehicle was stopped and the owner was served a prohibition notice, preventing its further use due to the poor condition of the car in question.”
Sgt Henderson added: “Further enforcement periods are planned in the coming weeks and we will be looking to deploy specialist resources when possible to improve the town centre.
“Anyone with information in relation to antisocial driving in Turriff town centre is asked to contact police.”
