A MULTI award-winning chip shop owner is to take his sustainably-sourced fare to Scotland’s capital.
Calum Richardson of the Bay fish and chip shop is bringing his food from Stonehaven to Newhaven in Edinburgh as part of a one-off pop-up restaurant evening.
Calum will be taking over the kitchen at Porto & Fi bistro on Newhaven Main Street on August 29.
The evening will see diners welcomed with a seaside gin cocktail created especially by Edinburgh Gin.
The gin features flavours of seaweed, scurvy grass and ground ivy.
Calum, who has created a three-course menu, said: “I can’t wait to bring The Bay to Edinburgh and to be let loose in the Porto & Fi kitchen.
“Provenance and seasonality is at the heart of what we do at The Bay so that’s what I’ve created the menu and evening around.”
The Bay was named the UK’s top Independent Takeaway in 2013 at the National Fish and Chip Awards, and has notched up more than 30 other awards and accolades.
