Drivers will face a major detour after it was revealed a section of the A90 in the North-east will close overnight – for the next three weekends.
The busy dual carriageway between the Murcar roundabout and the B977 Balmedie junction will shut in both directions.
The move will be in place on Friday into Saturday and Saturday into Sunday from 8pm to 6am.
Transport Scotland said the closures are to allow for 12 beams and 44 bridge parapet units to be delivered for the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route/Balmedie to Tipperty project.
Between 6am and 8pm on each of the weekends, a contraflow system will also be in place on the southbound carriageway.
A 500 tonne crane will be in use as part of the work.
Meanwhile, the closure will also be in place on Saturday, June 3, and Sunday, June 4, between 8pm and 6am.
No contraflow operation is planned for during the day.
A Transport Scotland spokesman said: “The contractor has been working closely with Police Scotland and the local authorities to ensure that anyone who needs to use the roads at Blackdog over the next few weekends can do so, while maintaining the safety of road users and road workers.
“These works have been timed to take place over a series of weekends to help minimise the impact they may have on road users.
“However, road users who need to travel through or nearby this area during these weekends should plan their journeys in advance so that they can reach their destination safely and on time.
“For instance, they should consider using an alternative route, if possible, and giving themselves additional travelling time.
“We would like to thank road users and the local community for their ongoing support and patience during the construction works.”
Drivers heading north will be diverted from the Murcar roundabout onto the B999 Aberdeen to Tarves road.
They will then have to turn right on to the B977 Dyce to Balmedie road before rejoining the northbound A90.
The reverse journey will be taken for those travelling south.
Drivers of heavy goods vehicles heading north will also be diverted on to the B999 Aberdeen to Tarves road until they reach the B9000 Newburgh to Pitmedden road.
They will then have to turn right and follow the B9000 until reaching the A90. The reverse journey will be taken for those travelling south.
