A phone firm has said there are no plans to close its store – despite proposals being submitted to demolish it.
Plans have been lodged with Aberdeen City Council to tear down the Carphone Warehouse shop and the closed Maplin at the Haudagain Retail Park.
If approved, the site could become a new drive-thru.
However, a spokeswoman from Carphone Warehouse said it is business as usual despite the application.
She said: “We are aware that a speculative planning application has been made by the landlord of the Aberdeen Haudagain Retail Park.
“There are currently no plans to close our store there. The team at Carphone Warehouse will continue to provide brilliant service to customers in the local area, it’s very much business as usual.”
Coogan and Company Architects has submitted plans on behalf of Herbel (Northern) Ltd. However, the firm has also launched a similar application for the same site for a change of use to a “family restaurant”.
