North-east emergency services have tonight been called to a crash involving a bus and a car.
Police said the crash, on the A93 between Crathie and Ballater, was “serious”.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “A car and a bus have collided and the fire service got the call at 6.46pm.”
Police and ambulance services are in attendance.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police are currently on the scene and we were called at 6.25pm.
“The road is currently closed.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman added: “The stop message came through at around 7.23pm and they are now making the scene safe.”
Police are asking drivers to avoid the area. The road will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach North Scotland said: “Shortly after 6.30pm this evening, a car was in collision with one of our vehicles on the A93 near Ballater.
“Our immediate concerns are for the welfare of those involved.
“Safety is our highest priority. We are assisting police with their inquiries into the incident as well as carrying out our own investigation into the circumstances.”
