Burst water main affects North-east homes

A number of homes in the North-east have this afternoon lost their water supply due to a burst main.

Scottish Water this afternoon apologised to Laurencekirk residents in the AB30 postcode for the issue.

In a statement on their website, Scottish Water said: “A burst water main has been located in the Laurencekirk area customers here may experience loss of water supply, low pressure, and discoloured water.

“A squad will be on site to carry out the necessary repairs and will restore supplies as soon as possible.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and we will update this information as soon as possible.”

A spokesman for Scottish Water said: “A Scottish Water team are on site in Laurencekirk after reports of a disruption to supply for some customers following third party damage to a water main in the town.

“Alternative supplies are being put in place for customers and the burst main has been isolated and a repair is currently underway.

“This repair will be carried out as quickly as possible and we thank customers for their patience.”
