A Buddhist temple is holding a special annual celebration this weekend.
The Thai Buddharam Temple Aberdeen is holding a Kathina Robes ceremony.
The Kathina festival is a major observance of Theravada Buddhism. It is a time for lay people to offer cloth for robes and other necessities to the monastic sangha.
The programme for the day will include precepts and chanting, followed by lunch, the Kathina Robes Parade and finally the Funerary Ceremony for King Bhumibol IX of Thailand.
The ceremony will be held on Sunday from 10am to 4pm at Aberdeen Altens Hotel in Souterhead Road.
